GKW Wendlingen

The Gruppenklärwerk (GKW) Wendlingen at the Neckar river is a municipal company that provides wastewater treatment and rainwater treatment for around 200,000 inhabitants in over 20 towns and communities in the districts of Esslingen and Göppingen.

Following the cooperation with SCHAUB Umwelttechnik GMBH, a powder activated carbon storage and dosing unit for the 4th cleaning stage has now been put into operation there.

Order

Construction of an activated carbon storage and dosing unit for the GKW Wendlingen. The order included a 125m3 silo with integrated air loosening system and a rotary valve with downstream spreading auger.

The gravimetric fine doser has a capacity of 4 to 40 kg/h powder activated carbon.

For mixing and complete wetting of the activated carbon powder with water as well as for further transport to the dosing points, a water dosing unit is installed to feed the water jet pump or the induction hopper, each of which is also equipped with a flow meter with a downstream control valve to ensure a constant water supply.
